usic-Driven! Children love lively music, and one of the best ways to teach God's Word to children is through music. "101 Songs Thru the Bible with Boot the Mule," each song written by Christian Attorney Terry Lee Hamilton, will delight as well as instruct children of all ages. |
 |
The Curriculum Notebook for each quarter includes a CD with all of the songs accompanying the 13 lessons. The CD contains each song sung by vocalists with the accompaniment. Also on the CD is an instrumental version of each song to be used if you do not have a piano player. |
 |
The Curriculum also includes a bound volume of the sheet music for each year. Volume 1 for the 1st Year (84 pages) includes 32 songs. |
uppet-Driven! Each lesson contains puppet skits with such lively characters as Boot the Mule, Oscar the Pig, Smithfield the Swine, and Cecilia Swine. Boot the Mule, confident that most humans are not familiar with the important role that mules play in numerous Bible stories, introduces children to a menagerie of memorable Bible-based characters found in Boot the Mule's Official Book of Mule History and Behavior. Each week, Boot's aunt, Mrs. Gloria VanderBoot, the world's foremost authority on mule manners, helps Boot teach the puppets and the children "Rules to Live By" based on the Bible. |
 |
Boot the Mule is the engineer on The Bible Express, a Gospel train which travels all over the world telling boys and girls about Jesus. Boot the Mule opens each puppet skit by singing Boot the Mule's Official Book of Mule History and Behavior with all of the children. But he gets embarrassed when his Aunt Gloria gives him a big kiss in front of all of the children. |
 |
Oscar the Pig is a real PIG! He roams the countryside and comes to church on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Oscar's three loves are food, his motorcycle, and himself. Oscar is filled with famous sayings about himself, including:
"I'm a pig, and I'm loud. I'm a pig, and I'm proud. I'm a PIG!!!"
"I'm rough, and I'm tough, and I'm all that stuff!"
Oscar is usually a severe challenge to Mrs. VanderBoot's attempts to teach manners to the puppets and the children. Get those manners and brakes fixed, Oscar! |
 |
Smithfield the Swine is a proper pig, a sophisticated swine, chauffeured to church each Sunday in his Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. Smithfield, a model of sophistication and manners, is often compelled to tell his piggish friend, "Oh, Oscar, you are so-o-o-o-o disgusting!" But even Smithfield can have a momentary lapse of manners when he is offered Grey Poupon Mustard. Don't drool over the Grey Poupon, Smithfield! |
 |
Cecilia Swine, a cousin of Oscar the Pig, is from Backside Creek in Nowhere, Kentcky. Cecilia has a strong desire to become proper and sophisticated like Smithfield the Swine, but her cousin Oscar often reminds her that at the end of the day she's still a pig. |

hru the Bible! In the 2nd Year of this Curriculum, you and your students will travel from the book of I Samuel through the book of Malachi.
- 5th Quarter -- The fifth quarter covers I & II Samuel, I Kings, and II Chronicles. You will meet the last judge (Samuel) and the first three kings of Israel (Saul, David, and Solomon). You will also meet a special Bible character -- Buford the Bethlehem Mule, Jesse's mule, who was with the young shepherd boy David when the lad defeated the giant Goliath at the valley of Elah.
- 6th Quarter -- The sixth quarter covers I & II Kings, I & II Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther. You will meet Solomon's successor, King Rehoboam, who made such a bad decision that the kingdom split in two. The Northern Kingdom, with a bunch of bad kings, was conquered by the Assyrians. The Southern Kingdom had several good kings; but eventually, the Southern Kingdom was conquered by the Babylonians. This quarter concludes with the exile of God's people in Babylon and their eventual return to Israel.
- 7th Quarter -- The seventh quarter covers Job through Song of Solomon. You will travel through the tragic but eventually triumphant story of the suffering servant Job. Then we will sing our way through the book of Psalms. The last three Books of Wisdom were written by the wisest man who ever lived -- King Solomon. Proverbs is the most famous book of wisdom in the world. Ecclesiastes is Solomon's record of tough lessons he learned after making a mess of his life. The Books of Wisdom conclude with the Song of Solomon, a tender love story.
- 8th Quarter -- The eighth quarter covers Isaiah through Malachi, the study of the Prophets of God. You will journey first through the major prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel), then the minor prophets (minor only in length) (Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi). Many of these writing prophets prophesied of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, with Whom you will travel next quarter.

| 3rd Year Junior Church Curriculum |
hru the Bible! In the 3rd Year of this Curriculum, you and your students will travel from the book of Matthew through the book of Revelation.
- 9th Quarter -- The ninth quarter covers the Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell the greatest story ever told -- the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The birth and childhood of Jesus are introduced through the eyes of Clem, Joseph's faithful but slightly goofy donkey. Then you will learn about the early ministry and miracles of our Savior.
- 10th Quarter -- The tenth quarter covers the Gospels (Matthew - John). In this quarter, Jesus continues His earthly ministry, teaching and preaching about the kingdom of God. Then, you will travel with Delbert the Donkey into Jerusalem with Jesus the Messiah on his back. You will relive that sad day when Jesus is betrayed, beaten, and crucified. And you will rejoice again on the third day when Jesus rises from the grave, victorious over sin, death, and the Devil.
- 11th Quarter -- The eleventh quarter covers Acts, Romans, and I & II Corinthians. In this quarter, you will learn how the early church, empowered by the Holy Spirit, went into all the world preaching the Gospel. The greatest church planter in the New Testament was the Apostle Paul. The Holy Spirit led Paul to write several letters to new believers, instructing them in right doctrine about Jesus and right conduct in the world.
- 12th Quarter -- In the twelfth quarter, you will be finishing up the shorter epistles of the Apostle Paul to the churches (Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I and II Thessalonians), then Paul's letters to individual Christians (I and II Timothy, Titus, and Philemon). Then you will examine the book of Hebrews, followed by letters written by other early church leaders (James, I and II Peter, I, II, and III John, and Jude). In a glorious climax, you will spend your final weeks in the Apostle John's great book of the end time -- Revelation.

"We are ten lessons from completing the 3 year curriculum of Thru the Bible with Boot the Mule. I'm looking forward to starting it all over again. We are a small church, but we have seen 9 children saved through your program."
Sharon Humphries - Hot Springs Baptist Church, Covington, VA
"I teach Thru the Bible with Boot the Mule at my church. I love it, and more importantly, the kids love it. They especially love Oscar. I love to hear the cheers when they hear the Harley. Thank you for your ministry!!!"
Laura Bunce - Victory Baptist Temple, Brimfield, OH
"My name is John Diehl and I am writing you to let you know what a blessing your Junior Church materials have been to us at Missionary Bible Baptist Church. I was asked to lead our Junior Church program about a year ago by our pastor, Mark Rohnke. After agreeing to oversee the Junior Church program, my pastor gave me some sample material to look over called Thru the Bible with Boot the Mule. After briefly viewing the curriculum, the teachers and I agreed that we would give it a try. What a blessing it has turned out to be! Within the first few weeks, we had several kids either get saved or assurance of salvation. We have three teen boys running the puppet ministry, which has been a huge blessing to me and them. All three of these boys have really played the parts, and are enjoying serving the Lord in this way. My dear wife has become known as Mrs. Gloria VanderBoot by all the kids. Several of our other adults have come to visit as guests (Mrs. Mule, George the Mule, Noah) to help us teach God's Word in a fun and enjoyable way."
John M. Diehl, Junior Church Director - Missionary Bible Baptist Church, Hanover, PA
"Our first year has been really fun and we have seen some eternal results!"
Carol Fritz - First Baptist Church, Amboy, IL
